Our Story
Our group's main aim is to understand how natural products can affect microbial biofilm formation, either negatively or positively, preventing biofilm production by pathogenic microbes and boosting biofilm formation by beneficial microbes. The latter leads to better colonisation of probiotics, resulting in more effective interventions. We are also very interested in optimising the metabolism of probiotic microorganisms and identifying novel microbial products that are important for human health.
Our group was established at the University of Hull in August 2018.
